About This Show

High above the city sparkles the golden statue of the Happy Prince. He is covered all over with thin leaves of fine gold, for eyes he has two bright sapphires, and a large red ruby glows on his sword.

One day a little sparrow on his way to Egypt stops to rest at the statue’s feet. There the bird catches the tears flowing from the statue’s eyes. The Happy Prince explains that he was once a real man, with a real heart, who lived a grand life. But his life was sheltered, and he was always happy. As a statue, he weeps because he can now see the misery of the poor within his city. He begs the sparrow to stay and be his messenger, to help him carry happiness and good will to the poor.

The sparrow wants to stay and help the Happy Prince, but winter is quickly approaching and it is growing colder. The sparrow explains that he is on his way to meet his friends in Egypt, where it is warm. But the Prince looks so sad that the little bird agrees to stay and help him.

Join the swallow and the Prince on their special journey to make people a little happier and the world a little better. Filled with music, live action and puppets, this is one story you won’t want to miss!
