About This Show

Co-written by acclaimed author Mitch Albom and playwright Jeffrey Hatcher, Tuesdays with Morrie is the touching stage adaptation of Albom’s best-selling book. The autobiographical story follows the relationship between Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor and mentor. Sixteen years after graduation the two have lost touch; Mitch happens to see Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s disease. Albom reconnects with Morrie in a course of weekly Tuesday pilgrimages to Morrie’s home, a sort of seminar in the lessons of life. Morrie relates his experience with facing death and continues to reach out to life, sharing enduring bits of wisdom, such as, "Learn how to live and you’ll know how to die; learn how to die, and you’ll know how to live." Tuesdays with Morrie is a story about celebrating life, looking at the world with new perspectives and sharing the joy we discover around us.
