Unwilling and Hostile Instruments

As Chicago women lobbied legislators for the right to vote in 1913, one opponent declared the entire female sex ‘unwilling and hostile instruments.’ 100 years later, we celebrate women’s suffrage in Illinois by weaving together eight new short plays about extraordinary Chicago women from the last century.
