About This Show

The Thimbleberry Gallows is directed by Rebecca Zellar and written by Chris Riter with collaborative contributions provided by members of GreyZelda. The play was inspired by a trip taken by Zellar and Riter to the upper peninsula of Michigan – Copper Harbor, to be exact. In the summer of 1846, a girl named Fanny Hooe visited her sister at Fort Wilkins, an isolated military base concerned with protecting the copper interests from Canada and the native american population. Some say that her visit ended tragically and she disappeared into the wilderness, creating a little known legend.
