About This Show

Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences presents Beverly Cleary’s Ramona Quimby, dramatized by Len Jenkin, drawn from seven of the eight highly acclaimed Cleary books, directed by Trudie Kessler.

It appears Ramona’s life is just a mess! Her teacher hates her, her older
sister Beezus is a pain, Aunt Bea may marry a dork and dad just lost his
job! Like all of Cleary’s books, this adaptation reminds us that growing up
can be tough. But with the help of her family and friends, Ramona takes on
life’s daily challenges and emerges victorious. This adaptation of the
Newbery Award-winning books by an Obie Award-winning playwright is geared for children ages six and up and their families, and focuses on literature, social skills, character development, theatre and arts education, and issues children face in the contemporary world.
