New York City
This new play by David Isaacson is based on Edgar Allen Poe’s The Purloined Letter, Shakespeare’s Othello, the literary criticism of Jacques Lacan and Jacques Derrida, the Freudian writings of Princess Marie Bonaparte, and the murderous exploits of Bosnian poet/psychiatrist/strongman Radovan Karadzic.
Each evening the audience is treated to an absolutely unique performance, as the 26 scenes of the play are performed in random order every night; the jumbled order of the scenes echoes the disquisition on order and meaning that is at the heart of the play. The play is never performed in the same order twice!
