About This Show

Under the vibrant direction of Claude Stratz, Le Malade Imaginaire is Molière’s deliciously satirical final play -a no holds-barred indictment of the seventeenth-century medical establishment masquerading as a witty family saga. The madness begins with the character Argan, a chronic hypochondriac who contrives to marry his daughter to an imbecilic medical student to secure a lifetime of free medical care, though his daughter is in love with someone else. After faking his own death, Argan learns that his second wife plans to nullify his daughter’s inheritance, ultimately convincing him to take his health care into his own hands.
The performance on Friday, June 18 includes a post-show dessert reception with members of the company of Comédie-Française. Tickets are $125.00 each.
