About This Show

The vote is in, the storm is coming, and the dead are rising… The critically acclaimed Bruised Orange Theater Company brings you History of a Handgun, by Clint Sheffer.

The crooked inhabitants of a backward town, Mendicant Illinois, are anxiously awaiting the election of a new mayor while a storm is brewing in the distance and a killer haunts the near-by woods. Burton Wahl is a struggling, small town businessman with political aspirations, but no inspiration. The sensual Lanie Wahl wants to carve out her niche as the Mayor’s wife, while Melanie Neece, the young campaign manager, has dreams of changing the world. Their lives are turned upside down by the manic antics of Payne, a recently discharged soldier, Kim Vandzandt, the arrogant grad student turned psychologist, Leon, a touched truck painter, and Curly Jakes, a restless dead woman.
