About This Show

Antony and Cleopatra is one of the biggest openings of the year, and the inauguration of the new Navy Pier. Home of the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, formerly the Shakespeare Repertory, this new space cost $31.2 million. Its features include a state-of-the-art mainstage theater that seats 525, and a studio space. Opening the space is Shakespeare’s ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA. Antony is a man torn between the country he serves and the woman he loves. This complex relationship of power and sex is directed by Barbara Gaines, the company’s founder and Artistic Director.
