About This Show

A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Co. presents Shirley Lauro’s A Piece of My Heart.

Did you know the military kept NO accurate account of the women who served in Vietnam? A Piece of My Heart is the true story of those forgotten women. The heartbreakingly real story of nurses, military personnel, Red-Cross workers, and USO entertainers, as told in their own words. The horror of War takes on a unique perspective thru the eyes of these women, who came only to serve. The Vietnam experience, which changed them forever; their return to a country that villified them for their service, and their ongoing fight for recognition, are highlighted in this beautiful and compelling play. Coinciding with Women’s History Month, this work tells the story of women in combat, long before the United States military acknowledged their existence.

Directed by ARFTCo. Artistic Director Michael Buino.

There are post show discussions with women who served in Vietnam, including Army nurses, on Sundays, April 4th and 18th.
