Written in 1843, A Christmas Carol has become ‘the’ Christmas story and one of the most loved works in the English language. Few people know that Dickens wrote and performed a solo theatrical version of his famous story for many years, playing all the characters and providing the narration. Now you can experience the laughter, tears and joy of the original with John D. Huston as Charles Dickens when he makes a two night stop in Toronto on his cross country tour of his much celebrated theatrical performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Mr. Dickens will be joined by the MadriGALS, an enchanting female a cappella trio who will lend some additional seasonal and old world charm to Huston’s performance with a series of beautiful carols from Dickens’ day.
