In 1415, Henry V sits on the throne. Those nobles still loyal to Richard II and the house of York appear to have finally been quelled, the Kingdom is truly united for the first time in three generations and Henry V has turned his eye to France. He claims the throne through Isabella of France, his great-great-grandmother, second child of King Phillip the Fair of France. The French refuse Henry?s claim, and so off he sets for France…
The performance, part of the Sonoma Valley Shakespeare Festival, takes place at the open-air amphitheater at the Gundlach Bundschu Winery, complete with a terraced hill and lawn. There is a tasting room, open until the end of intermission, in which wine is available to taste and buy.
