Shakespeares immortal love story comes to glorious musical life, as Mission Opera and Valley Opera & Performing Arts meld their formidable creative forces to present Charles Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette. The fully-staged opera with orchestra stars Shira Renee Thomas and Xavier Prado (11/19/22 & 1/21/23) and Catherine Kenney & Vince McPherson (11/18/22) as the star-crossed lovers. The outstanding cast also includes veteran international artist Joshua Wentz, as well as Nathan Stark and Hugo Vera, both of whom have appeared as principals on the Metropolitan Opera stage.

Take Shakespeares timeless story of passionate, transcendent, ultimately tragic love, add the power of Gounods soaringly passionate and exquisitely heartbreaking score, and you have the ultimate date movie come to life in a moving live performance.

Romeo et Juliette will be sung in the original French, with English translation projected above the stage. Both venues are fully wheelchair accessible.
