New York City
Making their much-anticipated debuts at Sterling’s, musical theatre and nightclub artists Emily Allerton and Sylvia Brooks headline in mid-March.
Saturday, March 10: Emily Allerton
Allerton appears in her all new show, An Evening with Emily Allerton featuring Musical Direction by Louis Durra. The vivacious, young, blue eyed, blonde, is a celebrated singer who excels in musical theatre, pop, rock and jazz. She is also an actress with a diverse list of credits in both film and television. Originally from Oregon, she appeared in Oregon City Performing Arts productions of Arsenic and Old Lace, and The Miracle Worker. She also appeared at numerous, notable Northwest theatre venues such as Keller Auditorium and the Chiles Center. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and a recipient of the school’s Voice, Speech, and Dialects Award.
Saturday, March 17: Sylvia Brooks
Sylvia Brooks appears in her new show Fashionably Late and Other Questions About Life with Musical Direction by Tom Garvin. Many legendary jazz performers came into Sylvia Brooks’ life at a very young age. Her father, a renowned jazz pianist, played with such icons as Ira Sullivan, Buddy Rich, Peggy Lee, and Dizzie Gillespie, to name a few. So it is only natural that Sylvia went on to become an established performer, having sung at many of the top clubs in Los Angeles, Miami and New York. She has starred numerous times as Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street, and as Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes throughout the U.S. and Southern California. Other regional theater credits include Hotel Universe, The Madwoman of Chaillot (American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco), and The Man of La Mancha. No stranger to television audiences, Sylvia has guest starred on General Hospital, Baywatch, Dallas, Designing Women, and the new pilot Mama & Son.
Seating for performances occurs once nightly, between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.
The show and dinner package includes an upscale, four-course, prix-fixe menu with three entrée choices, followed by a one hour show.
