George and Emily Get Married takes a fresh look at an old story.  The play re-examines "Love and Marriage" through a contemporary lens. Gentle, insightful, romantic, and complete with a wedding reception that includes the audience, George and Emily Get Married is a love letter to life-long relationships and the effort it takes to make them endure.

In respect of George and Emily Get Married, The Estate of Thornton Wilder has given The Theatre Group at Santa Barbara City College strictly limited permission to use the characters and dramatic structure of Wilder's play Our Town.  This is only in recognition of the educational work of the College and the fact that this production includes students and is based entirely in the local community.
