About This Show

Have you ever wanted to hear two of your favorite authors in conversation together? Or two of the most well known environmentalists discuss their challenges and triumphs? Two scientists on winning the Nobel Prize? Tell Me More! is a new monthly series that will pair fascinating leaders in their respective fields for conversations about their journeys, inspirations and life lessons.

Misty Copeland, the first Black female principal dancer with the prestigious American Ballet Theatre and author of "Black Ballerinas: My Journey to our Legacy," will be joined by four trailblazing Black ballerinas, Lydia Abarca-Mitchell, Sheila Rohan, Gayle McKinney-Griffith and Karlya Shelton-Benjamin, whose careers crystallized at the Dance Theatre of Harlem in the 1970s, when female dancers of color were not represented in the premiere ballet troupes.
WBUR arts and culture reporter Cristela Guerra will moderate the conversation exploring Misty’s extraordinary journey to becoming a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, while paying homage to the Black ballerinas who made history in their own right. This event celebrates the meeting of these two generations of Black women ballerinas for the first time.
Join the conversation! Submit questions before or during the event here. Signed copies of Copeland's book "Black Ballerinas" will be available for purchase at the event. Virtual ticket holders can purchase the book from our bookstore partner Brookline Booksmith here.
