About This Show

Sex. Gay marriage. A conservative congregation. An Episcopalian minister’s liberal views are put to the ultimate test when her daughter comes out to her – and brings home an androgynous, ultra-freethinker whose ideas about love and relationships challenges everything she believes in.

Midwestern Episcopal minister Reverend Alexandra McCartney, well-known for her work as a progressive in social justice, faces a difficult personal and professional challenge when her own daughter Sarah comes out and introduces Mom to her gender non-conforming, free-thinking girlfriend. As Sarah’s visit home sends the Reverend into obsessions about vegan cooking, “Buffy the Vampire” and jokes that keep falling flat, Rev. Alex learns it’s easier to live up to her values when she’s just the minister, not the mother. Sarah confronts her mother who learns that there is redemption in humility, even if it means her own congregation turning against her. This provocative comedy-drama is written by Another Country Productions’ Lyralen Kaye.
