The Regent Theatre & Longwood Opera present Opera Meets Broadway, a program of musical favorites from opera and the Broadway stage.

It’s curtain up on Longwood Opera’s 19th consecutive fall season with a presentation of a special series of concerts at Arlington’s Regent Theatre.

For the past fifteen years, Longwood Opera has presented its popular summer concert series on Tuesday evenings at Christ Episcopal Church in Needham. Featuring some of the best Boston-based professionally trained singers, performances have included an evening of opera arias, Broadway show tunes, opera scenes, and Gilbert & Sullivan favorites among others.

Now, Longwood opera will bring one of it most popular concerts, Opera Meets Broadway to the Regent Theatre. The program includes solo and ensemble pieces that have been performed both on the opera and musical theater stages.

Produced and created by J. Scott Brumit, Longwood Opera’s General Director, with music direction by Jeffrey Brody, the performances feature four top professional singers from Longwood Opera’s roster: Philippe Pierce (tenor), Stephanie Mann (soprano), Emily Marvosh (mezzo soprano) and Thomas Weber (baritone and master of ceremonies).
