The American Repertory Theatre presents Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost. The King of Navarre, along with his three best friends, forswears the company of women for three years. However, when the Princess of France arrives with three beautiful companions, romance is in the air. Sparks fly, putting the men’s willpower to the test as they try to disguise their true feelings. Robert Bella’s production, set in a bygone era of Hollywood filmmaking, will feature characters inspired by celebrated film icons such as Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and the Marx Brothers, performing songs, dances, and classic comedy routines.
