Lady Windermere’s Fan
$14.00
A biting satire on the morals of the upper class, this classic play reveals a series of misunderstandings and deceptions in the high society world of Victorian London. Wilde’s story is one of deceit and disguise, but also of redemption as the characters bend the rules of morality to protect the ones they love. The play focuses on the story of Lady Windermere, a woman who suspects her husband, Lord Windermere, of having an affair with a woman of disrepute, Mrs. Erlynne. When asked to invite Mrs. Erlynne to her coming of age ball, Lady Windermere must face the woman allegedly having an affair with her husband in her own home. She turns to another man, Lord Darlington, in desperation, but Mrs. Erlynne intervenes, and tries to dissuade Lady Windermere from making the same mistakes that she herself once made.
