About This Show

La Boheme, Puccini’s famous opera about love, tragedy, and the Bohemian life set in the Latin Quarter of Paris is based on Scenes de la vie de Boheme by Henri Murger. Its powerful story and music have inspired modern classics such as Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical Rent, and the opera recently enjoyed a successful run on Broadway staged by Baz Luhrmann. The timeless characters of young, struggling artists Mimi, Rodolfo, Musetta, and Marcello have entered the hearts of generations of audiences as they embrace the simple joys of artistic life, experience the excitement and confusions of love, and support each other in tragedy. This production is conducted by William Lumpkin and directed by Sharon Daniels.
