About This Show

Stoneham Theatre presents the inimitable Eartha Kitt in concert. Eartha Kitt has had an enduring career spanning film, theater, cabaret, television, and music. She is one of only a handful of performers to be nominated for Tony (three times), Grammy (twice), and Emmy Awards. From her award-winning performances as Yzma in Disney’s 2001 film The Emperor’s New Groove to her Grammy nominated album Back in Business, to her third Tony and Drama Desk nomination for her portrayal of Delores in the 2000 Broadway production of George Wolfe’s The Wild Party, Miss Kitt, who turned 78 on January 17, 2005, is still going strong.

In 1967, Eartha Kitt played the infamous Catwoman in the television series Batman, a role that became synonymous with her and her trademark growl. Thanks to the popularity of the series, she can still be seen as this famous villain on “TV Land” and cable stations across the country.

In recent years, Ms. Kitt has been just as active as ever and has no plans to slow down, with National tours of The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, and freqent guest appearances on television. Her world-famous voice can be heard on TV commercials and in New York City taxi cabs advising riders to buckle up.

This concert replaces the previously announced Never Swim Alone. Everyone who has already purchased tickets to Never Swim Alone will be provided tickets for Eartha Kitt at no additional charge.
