The American Repertory Theatre, in collaboration with The Moscow Art Theatre Institute for Advanced Theatre Training, presents Abigail's Party by Mike Leigh, directed by Arthur Nauczyciel. It's party time! Five Britons convene for an evening of drinking and neighborly conversation, while down the street a teenage party rages. As the evening wears on and the music grows louder, the status quo disintegrates. Through hit songs and scintillating dialogue, this darkly comic play explores the generation gap and the rapidly changing times. Playwright Mike Leigh is the Oscar-winning writer and director of the films Topsy Turvy, Vera Drake, Naked, Secrets and Lies, Life is Sweet, and many others. Director Arthur Nauzyciel is an acclaimed French director who has directed to critical success in the U.S., Europe, and Hong Kong. Nauzyciel's unique directing style breaks traditional boundaries of this art form and expands the definition of theater.
