About This Show

In a new original musical adaptation of Sophocles’ Greek classic, Antigone tells the story of one woman who defies political authority in order to stay true to her beliefs. Creon, the newly named king of Thebes, has declared an edict giving honor to one fallen brother and disgrace to another, denying burial rites to the one who fought against the city in a bloody civil war. Antigone – one of the last surviving children of the ill-fated Oedipus – refuses to accept Creon’s decree and is determined to grant her fallen brother the rights the gods demand. In this timeless tale of one of literature’s most compelling heroines, one thing remains clear…truth never dies.
