The Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation has donated $25 million to the Campaign for PACE (Performing Arts Center Eastside), to fund a new performing arts complex, which will be named the Tateuchi Center.

The fundraising campaign was launched in 2006 with the goal of creating a great performing arts center for the people of the Eastside. The center will be named after the late Mr. Atsuhiko Tateuchi, a businessman and humanitarian.

The Tateuchi Center will feature a 2,000-seat Concert Hall and 250-seat Cabaret, and be located in downtown Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. The building is being designed by Pfeiffer Partners Architects, and is conceived as a flexible venue, suitable for smaller, more intimate performances as well as larger, Broadway shows. The Center is scheduled to open in 2013.
