PHOTO FLASH: Peter Billingsley at Opening Night of 5th Avenue Theatre’s A Christmas Story: The Musical!

Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie Parker in the 1983 family holiday film A Christmas Story, attended the opening night of 5th Avenue Theatre’s production of A Christmas Story: The Musical!, and is also one of the producers of this new musical adaptation.


Eric Rosen has directed the production, which runs through December 30. The show follows young Ralphie Parker, as he schemes his way towards the holiday gift of his dreams — a Red Ryder 200 Shot Carbine Action Air Rifle. The musical features a book by Joseph Robinette and a score by composer/lyricist team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

11-year-old Clarke Hallum stars as Ralphie Parker, with John Bolton as The Old Man and Anne Allgood as Mother. The cast also features Frank Corrado (Jean Shepherd), Carol Swarbrick (Miss Shields), Orville Mendoza (Elf/Waiter), Eric Polani Jensen (Pierre), and Matt Wolfe (Santa). Jadd Davis, Candice Donehoo, Brandon O’Neill, and Billie Wildrick play the Radio Quartet. Additional child actors include Keenan Barr (Grover Dill), Ashton Herrild (Scut Farkus), Matthew Lewis (Randy Parker), Dexter Johnson (Flick), and River Aguirre (Schwartz).

The ensemble includes Walker Caplan, Wilder Cufley, Larson Eernissee, Drea Gordon, Shaye Hodgins, Olivia Mora, Erich W. Schleck, Cameron Washington, Mira Wellington, Krystle Armstrong, Jared Michael Brown, Sarah Davis, Aaron Finley, Frances Leah King, Jenny Shotwell, and Ty Willis.
