Hans Altwies, Patti Cohenour, Christopher Charles Wood Set for 5th Avenue Theatre’s Damn Yankees

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming co-production with Paper Mill Playhouse of Damn Yankees, to run April 21-May 20. Mark S. Hoebee will direct.

With a book by George Abbott and Douglas Wallop and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, Damn Yankees is a musical comedy about a baseball fan who makes a deal with the Devil so his team can beat the Yankees.

The cast will feature Hugh Hastings (Joe Boyd), Christopher Charles Wood (Young Joe Hardy), Patti Cohenour (Meg Boyd), Hans Altwies (Mr. Applegate), Chryssie Whitehead (Lola), Allen Fitzpatrick (Coach Benny Van Buren), Nancy Anderson (Gloria Thorpe), Carol Swarbrick (Sister), Julie Briskman (Doris), Richard Ziman (Mr. Welch), Bob De Dea (Commissioner), and Beth DeVries (Miss Weston). The ensemble will be comprised of David Alewine, Blaine Boyd, Scott Brateng, Gabe Corey, Daniel Cruz, Sarah Rose Davis, Christian Duhamel, Michael Paul Ericson, Eric Esteb, Kasey Nusbickel, Matthew Posner, Dane Stokinger, and Vaden Thurgood.

Music direction will be by Ben Whiteley, and choreography will be by Denis Michael Jones. The design team will include Rob Bissinger (set design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), Tom Sturge (lighting design), and Andrew G. Luft (sound design).
