Actor Mark Chamberlin Has Died

Actor Mark Chamberlin has passed away of indeterminate causes, according to a report in The Seattle Times. He was 55.

Chamberlin appeared on Broadway in 84 Charing Cross Road in 1982. In recent years, he has performed primarily in Seattle, where he was recently seen as Odysseus in The Odyssey at Taproot Theatre. Among his other regional credits are The River Why, The Female of the Species, Romeo and Juliet, and A Christmas Carol. The actor’s screen credits include Edge of Honor, Ghost Story, and You Better Watch Out, as well as the forthcoming The Ward.

He was also scheduled to begin performances next month in O Lovely Glowworm at the New Century Theatre Company (NCTC) in Seattle. This production will continue as planned, presented in his honor. Michael Patten, the company’s executive director and co-founder, has assumed Chamberlin’s role.

In addition, Chamberlin served on the advisory board of the University of Washington School of Drama and was a board member of the NCTC.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and children Isaac and Kate,.
