Next Fall, Spring Awakening, Xanadu and More Part of Actor's Express 2011-2012 Season logo
The Atlanta-based Actor's Express has announced its 2011-2012 season, which will open with Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater's Spring Awakening. Freddie Ashley will direct this musical about a group of teenagers' angst in a repressive and uncommunicative environment, which will run August 25 - October 1.

Ashley is also slated to direct two other productions in the theater's season: A. Rey Pamatmat's Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them (October 27 - November 26), which looks at the unlikely family three teens form in the absence of a parent; and Tennessee Williams' The Night of the Iguana (March 22 - April 14), which centers on a dissolute and defrocked minister's stay at a seedy Mexican hotel.

The Actor's Express season will also include Gregory Nauffts' Next Fall (January 12 - February 11), a look at the crisis that brings together the friends and family of two very different men; and Douglas Carter Beane's stage adaptation of the cult film Xanadu (May 10 - June 16), which features songs by Jeff Lynne & John Farrar.
