Carolyn Cook, Sharon Ott, et al. Set for Georgia Shakespeare’s 2011 Season

The Georgia Shakespeare has announced additional details for its 2011 season.

Carolyn Cook will star as Prospera in Shakespeare’s The Tempest (June 8-July 23), directed by Sharon Ott and also featuring Chris Kayser as the sprite Ariel. John Dillon will direct Antony and Cleopatra (June 23-July 22), adapted by Amlin Gray and starring Tess Malis Kincaid as Cleopatra.

Georgia Shakespeare will present a musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book (July 5-22), featuring book and lyrics by April-Dawn Gladu with music and lyrics by Daniel Levy.

Richard Garner will direct two production for the theater: Michael Frayn’s farce, Noises Off (July 28-August 14) and Tennessee Williams’ classic, The Glass Menagerie (October 6-30). The year will end with a holiday show (December 7-26), to be announced.

Additional events will include the free family event, Shakespeare’s Birthday and Open House (April 23, 11am-2pm) and Bard’s Bash 2011 (May 21, 6:30pm), a benefit gala honoring Flora Maria Garcia and the Metro Atlanta Arts & Culture Coalition with the Spirit of Will Award.
