Hines, Lumbly, Payne, Ruta, Woods, et al. Win 2007 BACCA Awards

Winners of the 2007 Bay Area Critics Circle Awards have been announced.
The group bestowed 67 awards, based on a total of more than 400 eligible productions.

Among the productions taking top honors were Oliver Twist, The Pillowman, Jersey Boys, Bingo, Based on a Totally True Story, Pippin, and Wilde Boys.

The three leads of Blues in the Night, Maurice Hines, Freda Payne, and Carol Woods, all received individual BACCA Awards. Other acting winners include Rene Augesen (The Rainmaker), Connie Champagne (Goodbye Yellow Brick Road), Mike Daisey (Great Men of Genius), and Carl Lumbly (Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train). Ken Ruta won separate awards for his work in Trying and The Circle.
