David Strathairn to Star in Scorched at A.C.T.; Additional Shows Announced

David Strathairn will star in Wajdi Mouawad’s thriller Scorched, one of three newly announced production to play American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) during its 2011-2012 season.

Carey Perloff will direct both Scorched and another new addition: Twelfth Night, Shakespeare’s comedy about twins separated by a disaster at seas and the romantic complications that follow their arrival in the same city. The third addition to the A.C.T. lineup for the coming year is Jordan Harrison’s Maple and Vine, to be directed by Mark Rucker.

As previously announced, the A.C.T. season will also include such works as David Mamet’s Race, Lorenzo Pisoni’s one-man show Humor Abuse, and a revival of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s Once in a Lifetime. One additional production, along with run dates and casting will be announced at a later time.
