The Shotgun Players production of Women Laughing Alone With Salad begin performances tonight at Ashby Stage.

Directed by Susannah Martin, the comedy from Sheila Callaghan is described as follows: "Inspired by the internet meme of "Women Laughing Alone With Salad," Sheila Callaghan explores gender stereotypes, relationships, and sexism, with a healthy side of humor and mixed greens. Callaghan breaks all the rules of our image-obsessed culture in this raw, feminist comedy where everyone is about to get tossed!"

Women Laughing Alone With Salad features Caleb Cabrera, Melanie DuPuy, Regina Morones, and
Sango Tajima. The creative team includes Mikiko Uesugi (set design), Allen Willner (lighting design), Christine Crook (costume design), Devon LaBelle (props design), Erin Gilley (video design), Jake Rodriguez (sound design), Natalie Greene (choreography), and Dave Maier (fight direction). Nancy Bach is the costume design assistant, Quinci Waller the assistant director, Kieran Beccia the production assistant, and Bri Owens the stage manager.

Performances continue through November 11.
