Lowrance, Reed, Willis, et al Set for A.C.T.’s Curse of the Starving Class

Full cast and creative team have been announced for the American Conservatory Theatre’s 30th anniversary production of Sam Shepard’s The Curse of the Starving Class, to run April 25-May 25. The production, which will open officially on April 30, will be directed by Peter DuBois.

The show’s cast will feature Rod Gnapp, Dan Hiatt, Nicole Lowrance, Craig Marker, Pamela Reed, Howard Swain, T. Edward Webster, Jud Williford, and Jack Willis. Reed, who will now play Ella, portrayed Emma in the show’s original 1978 production at the Public Theatre in New York.

The creative team will feature Loy Arcenas (sets), Lydia Tanji (costumes), Japhy Wideman (lighting), and Fabian Obispo (sound). DuBois’ directing credits include Measure for Pleasure and Jack Goes Boating and he will become artistic director of Boston’s Huntington Theatre next season.
