Lauren English to Star in Magic Theatre's Why We Have a Body logo
Lauren English
Lauren English will star in Magic Theatre's revival of Claire Chafee's 1993 hit, Why We Have a Body, to run August 31-October 2, with an opening on September 6. Katie Pearl will direct.

The play centers around Lili (played by English), a lesbian P.I. who stalks men cheating on their wives. When she's not channeling Joan of Arc, Lili's sister Mary holds up a 7-Eleven and directs traffic. Their mother Eleanor, an archeologist, specializes in-- what else? -- the female brain.

The cast will also include Rebecca Dines as Renee, Lorri Holt as Eleanor, Maggie Mason as Mary.

English is a two-time BACC award winner and three time Dean Goodman Award Recipient. Recent theater credits include the world premiere of The Proud at Studio Tisch New York and the world premiere of Reborning at The SF Playhouse.
