Foothill Music Theatre Announces Cast for 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Foothill Music Theatre has announced the cast for their upcoming production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, February 19-March 7, to be directed by Jay Manley with musical direction by Mark Hanson.

The musical — featuring music and lyrics by William Finn and a Tony Award-winning book by Rachel Sheinkin — explores the joys and pitfalls of cut-throat competition between six lovable loner kids, played by adults, as they spell their way to the top.

The cast will feature David Cates as Leaf Coneybear, Kristin Walter as Rona Lisa Perretti, Alicia Teeter as Olive Ostrovsky, Kateri McRae as Logainne “Schwartzy” Schwartzandgrubennier, David Patrick Mister as William Barfee, Katie Chaidez as Marcy Park, as well as Scott White as Vice Principal Douglas Panch, Ryan Millena as Chip Tolentino, and Jordan Sangalang as Comfort Counselor Mitch Mahoney.

The creative tea will also include Julie Engelbrecht (costume design), Kateri McRae (choreographer), and Bruce McLeod (set/lighting design).
