Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced that Olivier Award-winning actor Conleth Hill (Broadway's The Seafarer), will take on the title role in Macbeth. Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Sylvia), the production will begin its run in February 2016.

On Broadway, Hill has appeared in Stones in His Pockets and The Seafarer. He has also appeared at the National Theatre in Democracy, Philistines, and the pre-Broadway engagement of Stones in His Pockets. Also on the West End, he won an Olivier award for his performance in Mel Brooks’ The Producers. Hill's film credits include Perrier’s Bounty, Intermission, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and Woody Allen’s Whatever Works. On television, he is known for playing Varys on Game of Thrones, among many other credits.

As previously announced, Hill will be starring opposite Frances McDormand in the role of Lady Macbeth. McDormand won Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance in Sullivan's production of Good People, and also collaborated with him on the original off-Broadway production of Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig. Her many films include Olive Kitteridge, Moonrise Kingdom, and Fargo, for which she won an Oscar.
