Charles Dean to Head Cast of Marin Theatre Company’s Sunlight

Broadway veteran Charles Dean will star as university dean Matthew Gibbon in the world premiere of Sharr White’s Sunlight. The winner of Marin Theatre Company’s 2009 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize, the play will be presented by the company, January 21-February 14, with an opening on January 26. Jasson Minadakis will direct.

In this political thriller, Matthew Gibbon, liberal lion and university president, may have finally gone too far in his battle against the conservative dean of the law school — his son-in-law and former protégé.

The cast will also include Wanda McCaddon as Matthew’s long-time personal assistant Maryanne, Carrie Paff as his daughter Charlotte, and Kevin Rolston as his son-in-law Vincent.
