Billy Elliot to End San Francisco Run on August 21

The San Francisco engagement of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Orpheum Theatre will now conclude its run on Sunday, August 21, instead of the previously announced September 17.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, Billy Elliot tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The show won 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical; it is written by Elton John (music) and Lee Hall (book and lyrics), with direction by Stephen Daldry and choreography by Peter Darling.

The cast features Ethan Fuller, Kylend Hetherington, Lex Ishimoto, Daniel Russell, and J.P. Viernes alternating in the role of Billy, along with Faith Prince (Mrs. Wilkinson), Rich Hebert (Dad), Patti Perkins (Grandma), Jeff Kready (Tony), Joel Blum (George), Griffin Birney and Jacob Zelonky (Michael), and Rachel Mracna (Debbie).

The production features scenic design by Ian MacNeil, costume design by Nicky Gillibrand, lighting design by Rick Fisher and sound design by Paul Arditti. Musical supervision and orchestrations are by Martin Koch.
