Aurora Theatre Company Announces 2012-2013 Season

Aurora Theatre Company has announced the productions planned for its 2012-2013 season, which will run August 2012-July 2013.

The season will kick off with the Bay Area premiere of Kristoffer Diaz’s wrestling themed critique of pop culture The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity (August 24-September 30), directed by Jon Tracy. Then, Barbara Oliver will direct Thornton Wilder’s Wilder Times (November 2-December 9), a collection of four of Wilder’s short works, including The Happy Journey to Trenton and Camden and The Long Christmas Dinner.

In 2013, Aurora will present the world premiere of Our Practical Heaven (January 25-March 3), written by Anthony Clarvoe and directed by Allen McKelvey, which focuses on three generations of family gathering over three holidays. Mark Jackson will direct a translation by Alistair Beaton of Max Frisch’s The Arsonists (April 5-May 12), an absurdist allegory of the Communist takeover of Czechoslovakia in 1948. The season will close with the Bay Area premiere of This is How it Goes (June 14-July 21) by Neil LaBute, a play about a mixed-race couple in a small white town, directed by Tom Ross.
