African-American Shakespeare Company to Replace Xtigone with A Raisin in the Sun

African-American Shakespeare Company has announced that it will replace its previously reported production of playwright and actress Nambi E. Kelley’s Xtigone with Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, May 12-27 at the Buriel Clay Theater. Artistic director L. Peter Callender will direct.

Set in 1950’s Chicago, A Raisin in the Sun examines the divergent dreams within three generations of a black family.

The theater’s production of Xtigone has been postponed and removed from the current season schedule.
