San Diego Rep Announces 2004-2005 Season

The San Diego REPertory Theatre has announced that its 2004-2005 season will include Regina Taylor’s adaptation of Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry’s Crowns, a new gospel musical; Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?; D.W Jacobs’s new 90-minute version of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol; the Flying Karamazov Brothers in Life: A Guide For The Perplexed; and the father and son team of Luis and Kinan Valdez in Corridos Remix, a tale told in song, dance and image that riffs on a traditional Mexican form from a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, and multi-generational perspective.

In addition, Shakespeare’s King Lear will be presented as part of a special educational series that includes workshops, seminars, and student performances. And the REP will offer two festivals celebrating African and Jewish Diaspora culture: The 13th Annual Kuumba Festival and The 12th Annual Lipinsky Family San Diego Jewish Arts Festival.
