La Jolla Playhouse's The Hunchback of Notre Dame Extends Run

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that it will extend the run of its upcoming U.S. premiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, featuring the Disney film score by Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. The production will run from October 26-December 7 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is produced by special arrangement with Disney Theatrical Productions. It features a book by Peter Parnell and direction by Scott Schwartz. It is produced in association with Paper Mill Playhouse.

The cast will include Michael Arden as Quasimodo, Patrick Page as Frollo, Ciara Renée as Esmeralda, Andrew Samonsky as Phoebus, and Erik Liberman as Clopin. The ensemble will include Lucas Coleman, Mary Joe Duggan, Anise Ritchie, Brian Smolin, William Thomas Hodgson, Julian Decker, Ian Patrick Gibb, Beth Kirkpatrick, Samantha Massell, Neal Mayer, Nora Menken, William Michals, Vincent Rodriguez, and Richard Ruiz. As previously announced, the local choir SACRA/PROFANA will serve as the show's onstage chorus.

The creative team features choreographer Chase Brock, music supervisor and arranger Michael Kosarin, orchestrator Michael Starobin, set designer Alexander Dodge, costume designer Alejo Vietti, lighting designer Howell Binkley, and sound designer Gareth Owen.
