First Look at In Your Arms at the Old Globe With George Chakiris and Donna McKechnie

The dance-theater musical features vignettes by Carrie Fisher, Terrence McNally, Marsha Norman, and more.

The Old Globe Theatre is now in performances of the new dance-theater musical In Your Arms, featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli.

Coconceived by Gattelli and Jennifer Manocherian, the piece uses dance to tell several different stories crossing various eras and cultures. It features written by acclaimed dramatists Douglas Carter Beane (Shows for Days), Nilo Cruz (Anna in the Tropics), Christopher Durang (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), Carrie Fisher (Postcards from the Edge), David Henry Hwang (Chinglish), Rajiv Joseph (Guards at the Taj), Terrence McNally (Mothers and Sons), Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden), Lynn Nottage (Ruined), and Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy). Tony Award-winner Flaherty (Ragtime) provides the music, with his collaborator Lynn Ahrens contributing lyrics to the show's title song.

The company is headed by Academy Award winner George Chakiris (West Side Story) and Tony winner Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line), alongside Marija Juliette Abney (After Midnight), Stephen Bienskie (Silence! The Musical), Henry Byalikov (Burn the Floor), Claire Camp (Flashdance The Musical), Spencer Clark (The Winter's Tale), Jeremy Davis (South Pacific), Jenn Harris (Silence! The Musical), Jess LeProtto (Newsies), Adesola Osakalumi (Fela!), Karine Plantadit (After Midnight), Hayley Podschun (Chaplin), Jonathan Sharp (Fiddler on the Roof), Ryan Steele (Newsies), Brendon Stimson (Newsies), Alex Michael Stoll (West Side Story), Samantha Sturm (Matilda the Musical), Oscar Valero (Fuerza), Erica Wong (Ballet Theatre of Maryland), and Lyrica Woodruff (Little Dancer).
