Works by Andrew Lippa, Yasmina Reza and More Featured in Act II Playhouse’s 2010-2011 Season

Act II Playhouse has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will begin with Bud Martin’s staging of Andrew Lippa and Tom Greenwald’s musical John & Jen (September 21 – October 17). Martin will also direct the final production of the year, a revival of Yasmina Reza’s Art (May 10 – June 5).

Harriet Power will helm the other two full productions in the company’s season: Shakespeare’s The Tempest (November 16 – December 12) and Sebastian Barry’s The Pride of Parnell Street (March 22 – April 17).

In addition to these productions, the theater will offer three special event shows in the coming year, beginning with Burt & Me (July 6 – August 1), which uses the music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David to tell the story of two high school pals brought together by a love of the team’s songs. In the new year, the theater will present Mary Martello’s solo show The Reluctant Optimist (January 12-23), as well as a new one-man show from Tony Braithwaite, Heere’s Tony! (February 2-20).
