Tovah Feldshuh to Star in Gypsy at Bristol Riverside Theatre; Season Announced

Four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh will star as Momma Rose in the Bristol Riverside Theatre’s production of the Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical, Gypsy, to play December 6-January 15.

Feldshuh earned Tony Award nominations for her performances in Yentl, Saravà!, Lend Me A Tenor and Golda’s Balcony. Her other stage credits include Irena’s Vow, Tovah: Out of Her Mind!, Tallulah Hallelujah!, Mining Golda: My Journey to Golda Meir, as well as the cabaret piece, Tovah: In a Nutshell. She received her first Emmy Award for her performance in Holocaust and a second for her work as Danielle Melnick on Law & Order.

The theater’s 25th anniversary season will also include William Luce’s Barrymore (October 11-30), starring Keith Baker as matinee idol John Barrymore; the world premiere of Jon Marans’ A Raw Space (January 31-February 19), about two high-powered couples during a private design competition; Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias (March 20-April 8); and Jonathan Larson’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent (May 8-June 3).
