Ron Holgate, Kendrick Jones, Forrest McClendon, et al. Set for PTC’s The Scottsboro Boys

Philadelphia Theatre Company has announced casting for its production of the musical The Scottsboro Boys, to run January 20- February 19.


As previously reported, Jeff Whiting will recreate Susan Stroman’s original direction and choreography for the production, which will have musical direction by Eric Ebbenga.

Featuring music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb and book by David Thompson, the show revisits the case of a group of young African-American men in 1930s Alabama who were falsely accused of a terrible crime.

The company will feature Andrew Arrington (Charlie Weems/Victoria), Gilbert L. Bailey II (Ozie Powell/Ruby), David Bazemore (Olen Montgomery), Nile Bullock (Eugene Williams), Derrick Cobey (Andy Wright), Kaci Fannin (The Lady), Rodney Hicks (Haywood Patterson), Ron Holgate (The Interlocuter), Eric Jackson (Clarence Norris), Kendrick Jones (Willie Robeson), Forrest McClendon (Tambo),JC Montgomery (Bones), and Clinton Roane (Roy Wright).

The creative team includes scenic designer Beowulf Boritt, lighting designer Ken Billington, costume designer Toni-Leslie James, and sound designer Peter Hylenski.
