Plays & Players has announced casting for Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, written by August Wilson. Daniel Student will direct the production on the P&P Mainstage, January 19-February 4.

Set in 1911, the work centers on Seth and Bertha Holly’s boarding house in Pittsburgh, which offers newly emancipated slaves a place to call home as they move north in search of employment and a chance to start over. Their routines are shaken when an angry and lost man arrives looking for his wife he hadn’t seen for years after he was captured and put in a chain gang.

The cast will be led by Damien Wallace as Bynum and Kash Goins as Herald Loomis, and also feature James Tolbert, Cherie Jazmyn, Jamal Douglas, Candace Thomas, Mlé Chester, Bob Weick, Lauryn Jones, Brett Gray, and Erin Stewart.

There will be special talkbacks following performances on Sunday, January 29 and Sunday, February 4.
