People’s Light and Theatre has announced plans for its 2012-2013 season.

The season will kick off with August Wilson’s Seven Guitars (September 12-October 7), one of the works in Wilson’s The Pittsburgh Cycle , to be directed by Jade King Carroll. Guy Hollands will direct William Shakespeare’s ethereal tale of kings and queens, revenge and betrayal The Winter’s Tale (January 31-March 3).

The season will continue with a Abigail Adams directed production of Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful (March 13-April 7), the story of a woman living the twilight of her life trapped in a two-bedroom apartment with her controlling daughter-in-law and hen-pecked son. The second world premiere of the season will be Barcelona (May 29-June 23) by Bess Wohl, a seductive
look at who we pretend to be versus who we really are, directed by Jackson Gay. Finally, Pete Pryor will direct Michael Frayn’s wickedly funny farce Noises Off (July 10-August 4).

Two additional plays will be presented along with Aladdin: A Musical Panto as part of the PNC Arts Alive Discovery Series.
