Mamma Mia! Begins Performances at Walnut Street Theatre

Opening night is set for May 23, for a run continuing through July 15.

Performances of Mamma Mia! begin tonight at Walnut Street Theatre.

Richard Stafford directs the musical which is described as follows: "Put on your platform shoes, your feather boas and get ready for one of the most popular musicals of all time, Mamma Mia! On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship. This sensational production contains ABBA's greatest hits, including "Super Trouper," "Lay All Your Love on Me," "Dancing Queen," "Waterloo" and more!"

Featured in the cast are Anne Brummel (Donna Sheridan), Lyn Philistine (Tanya), Charis Leos (Rosie), Jonas Cohen (Harry Bright), Eric Kunze (Sam Carmichael), and Christopher Sutton (Bill Austin). Also starring are Laura Giknis (Sophie), Schuyler Conaway (Sky), Tara Tagliaferro (Ali), Kathryn Miller (Lisa), Billy D. Hart (Eddie), Christopher deProphetis (Father Alexandrios), and Brett-Marco Galuser (Pepper).

The ensemble features Anthony Avino, Jesse Jones, Cody Knable, Adam Mandala, Kimberly Maxson, Owen Pelesh, Kristyn Pope, Evan Autio, Taylor Fields, Taylor Elise Rector, Kristi Smith, and Jet Thomas.

Performances continue through July 15.
